In 2020, the facade of Abe was restored to the 1760 period based on research of the house. Doors and windows accurately reflect the time period.

Windows on both the north and south walls were added in the 1800's. Originally, there were shuttered openings on the second (garret) level. Reproductions are in place where originally located. 2018

After repairing rafter ends and replacing a cracked rafter, hand cut long shingles were installed on the roof.
